Storytelling Session on Onchan Village Green

This event was held as part of the Isle of Man Bank's Summer Reading
Challenge - the Reading Safari.
Local postman Graham Hooton read 'Postman Pat' and our popular lollipop
lady, Lesley Ellison read 'Mrs Jollypop'.
Marilyn Corteen from the Isle of Man Bank enthralled listeners with 'Harry
Potter' and Captain of the Parish, Harvey Briggs read 'Rumble in the Jungle'.
Other guest readers helped to entertain more than 70 children sat in
little clusters around the village green in the September sunshine.
Chairman of Onchan Commissioners, Keith Watterson, presented prizes
to children who had completed the Reading Safari of reading 10 books
or more over the summer holidays.
